MAY 2017 - JUNE 2022Cryptologic Warfare OfficerUnited States NavyCryptologic Warfare Officers provide the Navy with expertise in cryptology, space, signals intelligence (SIGINT), cyberspace operations, and electronic warfare (EW) to ensure freedom of action while achieving military objectives in and through the electromagnetic spectrum, cyberspace, and space.

  • Led 20 person team as Ship’s Information Warfare Officer providing electronic warfare and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) expertise in support of ship development and construction.
Cyber Planner
  • Coordinated between Cyber National Mission Force and NSA Cybersecurity Directorate to deliver technical plans in support of National missions and objectives.
Prior to commissioning, I interned as a Midshipman at the National Reconnaissance Office and developed a web app which assisted analysts in detailed intelligence analysis.

Voterbase (previously Citizenbase) provides a personalized experience to present voters with their ballot and voting checklist. Users can view a preview of their federal and state and local races as well any referendums up for consideration. The app breaks down the voting process by creating a simple to follow voting checklist that walks the user through registration, requesting a ballot, and preparing for election day. The app’s goal is to make it more convenient and rewarding for people to vote and participate in democracy.I was contracted as the sole iOS Developer and developed the Citizenbase iOS app from the initial prototype through the App Store launch.Voterbase was featured on the iOS App store during election day as a resource to help voters when filling out their ballot.
DEC 2021 - NOV 2022DevOps Software EngineerAdvanced Networks & Cybersecurity Solutions, @ViasatI joined Viasat while I was still in the U.S. Navy as a part of a transition program offered to service members. In this first role at Viasat I was able to start laying the ground work for what would eventually become Viasat's Trusted Cybersecurity Service (TCS).
NOV 2022 - NOV 2023Lead Software EngineerTrusted Cybersecurity Service (TCS), @ViasatTCS provides cyber threat protection using classified and sensitive government intelligence for all US-based private and public sector enterprises. I led the architecture and development of the service from concept to release 1.0.Viasat's TCS is the only cybersecurity capability on the commercial market that uses sensitive and classified cyber threat information to protect networks.
  • Led architecture and deployment of a hybrid-cloud infrastructure within a SCIF, that analyzed billions of enterprise network logs a day.
  • Designed, developed and launched a portal that enabled customers to onboard their enterprise network and logging infrastructure within minutes.
  • Instituted an IaC-first culture within team to achieve increased developer efficiency, faster deployments, and decreased risk.
  • Developed an internal tool, using React/Typescript, that enabled analysts to deliver cybersecurity reports to customers 90% quicker.
  • Led team through SOC2 Type 1 certification, overseeing gap analysis, and control implementation.
  • Collaborated with customers weekly to gather product feedback and to align the engineering roadmap to meet their needs.
NOV 2023 - PRESENTSoftware Engineering ManagerAdvanced Networks & Cybersecurity Solutions, @ViasatI worked within Viasat's Advanced Networking group, leading and managing an agile team of software engineers to deliver various tactical networking and connectivity solutions.
  • Led development on control software for a free space optics terminal, that provides high-capacity communications in EW contested environments.
  • Spearheaded the UI redesign and refactor of an SD-WAN networking product, incorporating customer feedback and aligning UX and brand identity across the group's products.
  • Introduced comprehensive testing practices teamwide by developing test suites and test infrastructure using GitHub actions.
